Update on Overdue Fines

Dear library users,

During the Covid-19 lock down we extended loan times, and stopped applying fines, so you had fewer things to worry about. It was a simple thing we could do at a difficult time.

Recently we informed you that from 1 August 2020 fines would apply to overdue books issued to adult cards with the South Taranaki LibraryPlus.

We’ve been able to revisit that decision – fines will not be charged while we are in COVID-19 Level 1. We hope that makes life easier for you. We would appreciate you returning books by their due date so other people can enjoy them.

This change does not affect Stratford Library cards.

Don’t forget you can renew items unless someone else is waiting on them; renew them online yourself at, email or phone  0800 111 323.
