Norway, 1960s: Tommy's mother has gone. She walked out into the snow one night, leaving him and his sisters with their violent father. Without his best friend Jim, Tommy would be in trouble. But Jim has challenges of his own which will disrupt their precious friendship... Decades later, the two meet again by accident on a bridge - Jim is fishing, and Tommy is driving by in his expensive new Mercedes. The fateful day that ensues brings back a torrent of unsummoned memories that defined the adults they would eventually become, and reveals past misunderstandings.
